Just 14 miles upriver in Racine, OH, Lock 24 RV park is located on the site of a former river lock. The original lock building that once housed all the lock’s machinery, still stands. You can walk the grounds and see remaining lock infrastructure pieces built 100 years ago. Some of it even allows you to walk on water. We recently added a park golf course for recreational use. Open to guests and visitors, the course offers challenges and fun for the avid golfer, their friends, and their families.
The 9-hole course is laid out along the property’s great lawn behind the Lock House. The course offers beautiful river views and barges full of coal pass by with regularity.
Park Golf was invented in Japan in 1983 and quickly gained popularity. Commonly described as “the pickleball of golf” it is similar to traditional golf in that players aim to hit the ball into a hole with a club in the fewest number of strokes.
Park Golf allows people of all ages. Walks between holes are shorter. Only 1 club is needed. Colorful larger balls are used and the cups balls are putted into are larger too. These modifications make the sport fun for all ages and skill levels.
